The Satellite Program is an integral part of the Athens Photo Festival, allowing diverse institutions, galleries and art spaces to showcase their unique programs alongside our main exhibitions. Curated by Sylvia Sachini, the 2026 edition approaches photography not as a fixed medium, but as a permeable field of traces, gestures, memories, and transmissions. Moving beyond the limits of the photographic image itself, the program gathers artists whose practices engage with the afterlives of images and the unstable boundaries between photography, text, installation, moving image, and archival forms. In doing so, the Satellite Program foregrounds artistic practices that expand photography into a broader meditation on time, memory, materiality, and the circulation of images.
