“Threads” is a group exhibition focusing on the notion of trauma. Through a variety of perspectives, the participating artists use photography to reveal how trauma influences and alters our understanding of self and our inner landscapes. The title is meant to communicate the interconnected way the artists have worked – individually but also collectively – to convey memories and untold stories of the human experience.
Through archival imagery, contemporary reinterpretations and photo installations, the exhibition gives special attention to the embodied knowledge and to micro narratives. “Threads” explores the depths of human emotion revolving around trauma, across four thematic categories: our relationship with ourselves, our relationship with nature/environment, collective memory and borders (both physical and mental).
