Natalie Dannenberg

From the moment that I first saw Natalie Dannenberg’s
photographs, I felt overwhelmed
by feelings of tenderness, melancholy, love,
solitude, will, abandonment, and hope. All
these coexist in every one of the photographer’s
triptychs, where each recounts its
unique story like a diary of photos.
The choice of alternating visions between
black and white and colour, cloudiness and
the sun, light and fog, anthropocentric photos
and landscapes, is the way employed by
Natalie Dannenberg to lead the spectator to
his own unique, sentimental associations.
The anthropocentric subjects, in combination
with landscapes, make up the main axis
of her work. Human moments, personal,
ghosts from the past, interspersed with the
sea, the horizon, a way out, water – the element
in which we exist from the first moments
of our being, where we feel secure, a
unique element.
This latest exhibition is a combination of new
and old photographs, where the past, the
present, and the future coexist. It is dedicated
by the photographer, “to the child within
us, which we must respect if we are to survive
in this world.”
Natalie Dannenberg continues her work, and
as her oeuvre evolves, she expresses living
moments, human weaknesses, and reminiscences
by her photographic compositions.
