«Without a doubt life includes pain, sorrow, war, death. Despite this, it pleases me
to record its beauty and magic and I persist in doing so.
Five years ago, I commenced this photographic study on the customs and traditions
of our country, intending to record cultural continuity in Greek territory from
the depths of antiquity. Over time I discovered how many traditions we Greeks
share with other peoples, both neighbouring and far distant. It is truly magical,
how similar the people on this earth are in their diversity. I would like to thank the
people you see in these images for their determination to keep the memories of
centuries alive, transmitting them from generation to generation».
