Fabio Barile

Fabio Barile seems to move without a specific
aim although every time he finds a fine
thread, perceivable with a sidelong glance.
His work is a non-events journal, mainly
expressed by small format prints and playing
on balances that are never explicit, moments
condensed in an undetermined time,
transforming his research in a delicate and
protean details play.
Far from any traditional form of documentation,
even though connected to a precise
photographic culture, that goes from Luigi
Ghirri to Rinko Kawauchi, Fabio Barile brings
us into a border between reality and imaginary.
The mid-day dazzling light of the South
stands together with the diffused lightness
of North, finds little moments of suspension
in silent interiors, in portraits on side view,
in strong shapes lightened by the constant
relationship with the sky, in the irony of details
only apparently meaningless, that unleash
their context from a rigidly structured
imaginary.
