Costas Ordolis

The Novembers Rain consists for Costas Ordolis a deposit and at the same time a testimony to his travels in Central Europe, having as a start point the city of Bratislava. Since his first visit in town, in November 1999, a close relationship
with this ambiguous city had been built and simultaneously a need for continuous visits all wet Novembers followed the next 10 years. Ordolis is a city photographer and Novembers chosen to photograph cities create the proper scenery. Rain supports with the necessary black and white saturations. He does not capture a particular issue, because his photos do not belong to this genre which serves a specific purpose. His choice of subjects are originally unconscious, that is, it was generated by the spur of the moment, like a call formed deeply in his mind and then realized. The intention is not to highlight some concepts, processes, or to illustrate an idea to take stock of developments rotated in space and time but to seek his own personal photographic responses. The city exists for the photographer in order to observe, to record experiences, to seek for the city’s truth and let us know that there are certainly many truths. A process the main features of which are the simplicity of the photographic quest for his personal style which varies over time. Because if the images of his youth are more harmonically structured and simpler in their choice of subject, his mature compositions have more dense visual elements which interact with each other creating a multi-level photographic form.
