An idea takes many shapes on its way to final form. Threads, embryos, references, prototypes, drafts. Pinned up on walls or spread across surfaces, they begin to draw the geometry of an idea as it comes into focus. Some are adapted, others discarded, but all provide meaning that is often lost along the way.
Big Table brings together a selection of artists to showcase their ongoing research in a site-specific installation. From the daily self-portraits started in 1995 to the architectural detritus documenting a city in metamorphosis, the show offers a glimpse into the moments that pose the most essential questions in the lifespan of a work.
