“Seen Through” can be translated as “perceived” or “penetrated.” It refers to the notion that someone has seen and understood the essence or truth of a situation or person.
Through archival photos and personal images, in which I intervene, trying to highlight the female-human existence, creating a mysterious world. The female body takes on multiple forms, sometimes dynamic and other times dark, asserting its visibility in each case. I observe the posture of the bodies, their interaction with each other and the environment.

Bio: Alexandra Masmanidi lives and works as a photographer in Athens. She focuses on creating works using her photographic archive, which she reassembles, combines, or modifies with techniques such as collage, painting, and video. Masmanidi highlights themes related to ecology, sexuality, and personal identity. Through her practice, she concentrates on crafting fantastical worlds using documentary photography and observing the connections between nature and humanity. In 2021, she exhibited her first photobook “Amorous Glances” at the Thessaloniki PhotoBiennale 2021. Her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Photography in Thessaloniki and the Onassis Foundation in Athens, as well as in art magazine publications in Greece and abroad.
