Rigor Mortis or the funereal bestiary of forbidden flesh
In the near future, animals become a central issue in debates about equality, and the human–animal relationship is redefined in a world where progressivism turns into doctrine. Inspired by Ravage by René Barjavel and Animal Farm by George Orwell, this dramatic documentary imagines a society in which the struggle for animal rights leads to the prohibition of their killing. This ethical revolution does not spread uniformly: some countries ban meat consumption, while others remain attached to their traditions. Geopolitical, economic, and social balances are transformed; the animal trade becomes organized, tourism adapts, and new practices emerge around death. What initially appears to be an ecological victory gradually turns into a dark, grotesque dystopia. The narrative unfolds as a bestiary: each animal becomes a mirror of a world in which prohibition has been transformed into dogma.
