Everything I Want to Tell You
Everything I Want to Tell You is an ongoing collaboration between Sadie Cook and Jo Pawlowska. The project began through conversations about how fragments of their bodies and lives relate to the nebulous constraints of class, illness, immigration, gender, and sexuality. As the two discussed the ripple effects of their attempts to escape these imposed definitions, they turned to images as a way to document and fantasize.
Over the past two years, the duo has built an expanding archive of thousands of
images. They use these images to create large-scale installations composed of swirling explosions and dense clusters. Each installation engages with binaries they see reflected in both their archive and the architecture of the exhibition space. Their current installation explores the binaries of high/low, keep/discard, and peel/encase.
Their intention is for visitors to experience the installation as if entering their minds in the moments before sleep, when fantasies, old memories, and recent ones all feel equally real and present.
