Time Is the New Space
This photographic series began in the Netherlands in the summer of 2023 and consists of portraits of individuals whose presence is shaped by intimacy rooted in lived experience. The people portrayed embody a form of youthfulness that is not defined by age, but by freedom of expression, the embrace of contradiction, the exploration of sexuality, and an understanding of identity as an ongoing process of transformation.
Through these images, the work seeks to connect the human body with organic forms that emerge, bloom, and decay, revealing the fluid nature of existence. Gender identity appears here not as something fixed or predetermined, but as something continually taking shape, being questioned, and redefined—like a plant whose form changes according to the conditions in which it grows.
Time Is the New Space proposes a way of being in the world: fluid, multidimensional, ephemeral, and at the same time timeless. As though life and death were experienced not as a beginning and an end, but as a continuous, pulsating state of becoming.
